Ofcourse physical events aren't the only way of changing the pace of life. Here's a few other ways to get living! Whether it's self-funded volunteering or ideas for travelling our advice is do your research, consider it wisely and take the plunge!

Travel & Volunteer

• If you're going to volunteer, don't get conned, don't pay over the odds to do it and genuinely sit down and think what volunteering means to you. The ethical volunteering website may be of some help when considering your options. It also has links to another website dedicated to 'ethical tourism'
• Here is a link to just one list you can find on the web about volunteering abroad. This one promotes programmes being run by just a handful of charitable organizations.
  
• WWOOF your way round the globe! One fun way to travel and cheaply. This really is the alternative to the normal backpacking trip. There is a separate website dedicated to England so if you fancy isolating yourself on a farm in the Outer Hebrides click here.  
• Help Exchange - Again a chance to do something different, somewhere different. Despite the websites corny videos this really does provide some great opportunities.
• If wildlife conservation projects grab your fancy then here are two organizations we are lucky enough to have specific links with: Iguana Conservation Project (Bay Islands, Caribbean) and The African Lion & Environmental Research Trust  (Zambia, Africa).
